Hi everyone

It's been a while since I have posted anything.  I have been quite busy with courses and building up my business, which is taking off nicely (beauty more than massage) not that I am complaining, am really enjoying that side of things. 

This last week I have decorated with my Mum, my daughters old room, it was Hot Pink and is now a nice normal Magnolia colour.  Hopefully in a few months time my parents will be moving back down to Essex and I shall be moving back in with them and renting out my property, needs must for the time being I'm afraid, (even though the business is picking up, money is still very tight, thankfully I don't have a mortgage nor pay rent, but my little cleaning job just about covers the bills, but I still have to eat and put petrol in my car).

The decorating of Nell's old room means that all my soaping equipment is now in storage in the garage, and I don't know when I will next soap.  I must have 20lbs of soap in storage *eek* guess what people are getting for Christmas, unless I sell some at the home I massage at once a week, or at the cleaning job that I do.  My next decorating task is my bedroom or the bathroom or the kitchen, I don't know which yet, they all need doing.  The fascias and soffits need doing, I need a new back door, boiler, kitchen sink and a shower, I said to my Dad when all of this is done I won't want to move out!!  Who am I kidding, I need somewhere bigger and a back door that isn't in my bedroom lol I live in a bungalow and that's how it is!

Nag Champa

Haven't made anything in about 5/6 weeks, but got this slab mould today, made by an ex clients husband (well chuffed, he said he would make me whatever I wanted), so thought I would try it out, Nag Champa fast mover, went really thick, and I wasn't able to do what I wanted. TD underneath and Activated charcoal, used the chopstick to try and make a few swirls underneath, will see how it goes :)

This Thursday

I will be training in Manicures and Pedicures, I am really looking forward to it.  This is the start of my journey down the Beauty Therapy route, on Sunday I am learning Beauty Facials, I am already trained in semi permanent eyelashes, I am also training in a form of HD brows called GW Beautiful Brows and Lashes, tinting brows and lashes, threading, waxing, tweezing and all that jazz!  I will also train in bikini, brow, underarm waxing too.

Will report back when I have done my course!

Thursday Soaping

Here are my latest efforts, Lavender and Mint, and some shaving soaps with lavender, I have also made Coffee Kitchen Scrubby Soap, but no pic for that one yet.

First up, Lavender Mint ITPS, not cut)

Secondly, shaving soap, I put 2 lots in 2 mugs (His mug for my Dad, Her mug for my Daughter)

Hope the ITPS comes out ok, in the middle of melting oils and waiting for the lye to cool I was hit with a massive migraine, so had to leave it a good few hours.

Lovely day spent

On Saturday

3rd March, I went to The Tree Room's Open Day in Colchester.  It was a chance to let people know that I am renting a room there to do my therapies.  Long time standing around handing out flyers, but I came away with 2 bookings for 10th March (which is when I actually start at the rooms) 1 has since cancelled but rebooked for this Thursday, and then I got another call wanting to book for Reflexology, so all in all it has been a success, for this Saturday anyway.  I am there every other Saturday and I really hope it picks up, this is my calling!

Off work poorly

feeling sick, shivers, shakes and bad tummy.  To top it all I have found out I have lost yet another job with the same company, the one that was supposed to last until December, but from 31st March we will no longer work there, as from this Friday we can take Garden Leave for this job too, just as well, as I have lost heart for the company, for a charity they are not very charitable.

Goats Milk and Babassu Oil

Here is a new bar that I have made just for myself, I love Goats Milk in soaps, have been using it quite a bit really, this is my basic recipe but with babassu oil instead of coconut oil.  It's so creamy looking I can't wait to try it.  I actually made it nearly 2 weeks ago, so only another 2 or 3 weeks left to cure.

It is official

As from the 31st March I am redundant.  I can work up to the 24th February and take "Garden Leave" and still be paid, so I can work if I want to.   I won't be, I shall be out visiting residential homes to see if they would like the services of a holistic therapist, there are quite a few homes here in Clacton and the surrounding villages.  I visit one now on a Wednesday and I love it, plus my daughter used to work there, so I have got friendly with the staff as well as the residents, it's incredibly rewarding.

Also, tomorrow, I am going on a course to learn how to apply eyelash extensions, I was unsure at 1st as I really didn't want to go down the Beauty Therapy route, I am more the massage/reflexology type of person, but I am really looking forward to doing it, and on the 1st April I am going to learn beauty facials, I already do a Natural Lift Face Massage, a natural progression I think.  I know I have a follower from my town, so if you know of anyone who would like their eyelashes done, I will be practising and asking for a donation only.  I will post of my progress tomorrow.

Oh forgot to say

As you most of you know I have lost my contract therapy job, this doesn't actually finish in April like I was told, it has been wound down to the end of February, gutted for my clients isn't the word!!

Anyway on a happier note, you know I have been in contact with a place in Colchester called The Tree Room, and I am pleased to announce that I will definitely be renting a room from Saturday 10th March, 10.30 - 2pm, and will be there every other Saturday (for the time being, hopefully to rent all day Saturday).

As previously mentioned they are having an Open Day on the 3rd March 11 - 4pm, I have an exhibit table there and if you are in the area, please come and say hello and pick up a 10% off voucher (valid only for 2 Saturdays in March on therapies £20 and over).

I had an interview today

and I know it was the wrong job to go for!  I can't work within groups :(  I will have to turn it down!

Enough of the doom and gloom, I will be renting a room 1 Saturday a fortnight (for a few hours at the moment) at the Tree Room in Colchester from March, I am really looking forward to this and it could be the break that I need.

Please come down and see me on 3rd March between 11 and 5, I shall be handing out flyers at either end of Trinity Street, it would be lovely to see you.

Calendula and Goats Milk, the cut version

Well here it is, still pretty soft in the middle, and I'm guessing the lines are from the Calendula, but it looks and smells great, I like it lots.  My cutting leaves a lot to be desired and this is with a cutting block, oh well, one day I will have a real soap cutter :)

Hope you're all doing ok, it's really cold here at the moment, am sat here huddled in a huge black hoodie :)

 Peppermint tea, Peppermint EO, Lemongrass and Lime FO, can't really smell the latter, but the peppermint is lovely.

Calendula and Goats Milk, will hopefully be cut tomorrow, it's still rather soft, and not my usual recipe, it's from Melinda Coss.

My rebatch of all the odds and ends, my Nan used to eat Brawn (bleugh) and this reminds me of it, smells like Eros (Sensory Perfection FO) rather nice :)

Chinese food tonight, can't be bothered to cook, have a wonderful evening everyone.

Sorry I haven't been about lately

What with my parents being here for nearly 2 fabulous weeks, my Daughter is still home with her hubby, they fly back on Saturday, not looking forward to that :( it's my turn to take them to the airport, I am not stopping as the car parking is extortionate, not that I wouldn't want to see my daughter off, to be honest, it's best as I think she will be very upset this time, she really (they both do) misses home.  Anyway, nearly back to normal, whatever that is.

Bit of a shocker before Christmas though, I have lost my contract therapy job, which I'm totally gutted about, I am also what they call a project worker, and I have lost that job too, I am able to apply for another, but I am not sure which one yet, I have a good idea, but I want to run it past my jobsharer!!

So yeah, Happy New Year to me, what a great start :)
